Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays of the year. I love anything that revolves around food and family. The only think I don’t love about Thanksgiving is the mess! So, to make my life easier I have come up with a few tried and true holiday helpers to make the day go smoother.
One of the best ideas is to turn to your handy roll of foil. Before the big day I like to line the bottom of my oven with foil to so that any drippings will fall onto it and I can just discard it and not have to clean my whole oven. I also like to line my baking sheets with foil to help with clean up.
I love to set the table the day before. It looks nice for arriving guests and I have one less thing to do on the big day.
A real time saver is storing 5 or 6 trash bags in the bottom of your waste can. If you have guests offering to help take out the garbage, a bag is ready and waiting to line the can again.
Before beginning Thanksgiving prep, I always clean out my fridge to make room for ingredients and leftovers. It makes post meal time more relaxing if storing leftovers is easy.
Speaking of leftovers, this is an idea I plan to use this year-a leftover station. Set out inexpensive plastic containers and bags so that your guests can help themselves to leftovers and bag them up themselves! Include a sharpie so that guests can write their names.
Now, go and enjoy your time with family and friends for a stress-free holiday! Happy Thanksgiving!
