Larry Kelly, of the Northwest Arkansas Board of REALTORS®, was chosen among very respectable local board and association REALTORS® of the Year as the 2013 Arkansas REALTOR® of the Year on Tuesday, September 24, 2013. The banquet was held during the Arkansas REALTORS® Association’s 89th Annual Convention at Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgedale, MO. The Arkansas REALTORS® Association is honored to have Larry representing our state this year.
The banquet spotlighted the REALTORS® of the Year from all the local REALTOR® Boards and Associations around the State, and recognized their services over the past year. The REALTOR® of the Year criteria is set by the National Association of REALTORS® and includes service to the community, business accomplishments, service to the local, state and national REALTOR® organizations, and adherence to the REALTOR® spirit of honesty and fair play in all life experiences.
Larry Kelly, of Larry Kelly & Associates Realty, has been in the Real Estate Industry for 28 years and moved from Houston to Northwest Arkansas in 1992. He and his lovely wife, Stephanie, live in Bentonville. Larry is the 2013 President of the Northwest Arkansas Board of REALTORS® and serves on their Legislative and RPAC Committees. He served on the merger task force that combined three existing boards into the largest board in the state. Larry is also serving on the special facilities task force which is charged with buying land and building a new facility to house the Northwest Arkansas Board of REALTORS®.
Larry is a founding member, past chairman, and current board member of Hearts & Homes of Arkansas, Inc. and a past chairman of the Arkansas REALTORS® Association’s Legislative Committee. He served in the Legislative Task Force that met every Monday by conference call during the Legislative Session. The task force reviewed upcoming bills and proposed legislation on behalf of REALTORS® and private property rights.
The Arkansas REALTORS® Association is the state’s professional and trade association for persons in real estate. It is the umbrella group for Arkansas’ local REALTOR® Boards over the state and in turn is the state arm of the National Association of REALTORS®, which has headquarters in Chicago and Washington, D.C. Members of the local, state and national groups subscribe to a strict Code of Ethics and are identified by the registered term, “REALTOR®.”
