House to House: Arkansas Realtors® Raise over $88,000 for Special Olympics Arkansas

Arkansas Realtors® have a long-standing tradition of community involvement, making a difference in the neighborhoods in which they serve.   Realtors® volunteer their time and effort with numerous charities and worthy causes on a local, state and national level. The Arkansas Realtors® Association encourages Realtors® to do what they can to give back & make a difference in people’s lives.

For almost 30 years, the Arkansas Realtors® Association (ARA) and its members have worked to raise funds for Special Olympics Arkansas (SOAR). Over those 30 years Arkansas Realtors® have raised over $2 Million Dollars which was distributed to Special Olympic Areas around the state. These 17 Areas cover all 75 Arkansas counties and their Olympians directly benefit from the funds that Realtors® raise in their area.

“The Arkansas Realtors® Association connects families moving into communities throughout the State with Special Olympics Arkansas programs and volunteers.  The efforts of the Arkansas Realtors® Association through their continued spirit in volunteerism and generous financial support are invaluable to the athletes of Special Olympics Arkansas” said Special Olympics Arkansas Executive Director/CEO, Terri Weir. The ARA was recently announced to be a Mission Champion Sponsor for SOAR.

In addition to many events and fundraisers that were hosted by local Realtor® associations around the state, the ARA’s Public Relations Committee also organized a statewide raffle to benefit SOAR. Tickets for the raffle were sold across Arkansas in hopes to win one of many great prizes. The raffle was held during the ARA’s 90th Annual Convention. This year, the total amount of money raised by Arkansas Realtors® from across the state for the Special Olympians of Arkansas was $88,625.33. Miki Bass, CEO of the ARA, presented a ceremonial check for the total to SOAR on December 3rd at their bowling tournament held at Professor Bowl in Little Rock.
